My art has been best described by Curator Brent Dodd:

“…In Garcia’s abstraction of form through the sumptuous use of palette knifing, he retains a strict, concise and succinct command of his subject matter. This is strangely and refreshingly unique in a world of mass produced art where abstraction is so easily misunderstood or use with reckless and frivolous appropriation. Through reading the Histories of Art for years and humbly attempting to preach and understand the inner workings of it, one finds Garcia’s work to be even more enjoyable. He has the ability to capture the subject matter but more important he embalms the viewer in a sense of dramatic adventure. One is able to stand and participate in his work with the jagged empathy of De Kooning whilst also being given the impression that it all extends beyond the borders of the canvas, so successfully portrayed in Pollocks later work.

Both of the aforementioned artists, icons of Abstract Expressionism, were great manipulators of their art form, having evolved and grown through experience. Garcia has the same efficacy of representation, almost potent in its result through his dynamic use of colour. His landscapes are sculpted with the delicate and refreshing light of the Impressionists, which alludes to his confident and clear enjoyment of en plein aire painting. A simple wheat field is transformed into a dramatic narrative, his knife strokes hinting at the tumultuous trials of Van Gogh’s expressiveness whilst capturing the nominal subject matter with a measure of serenity.

Through his warm, self-effacing and gracious demeanor it remains a true wonder to enjoy the exuberant representation of his work. He is a master of the craft.”
