“Indio Mitotes “ is oil on painting on canvas measuring 30 X 40 created by Artist Louis A. Garcia using a painting knife. Created in his studio while listening to Native American music, the palette has emphasis of earth hues. The painting evolved while Louis was reflecting on memories of past battles in Vietnam. The thoughts elicited a warrior feeling which Louis transferred to the canvas in several intense hours painting. The title “Indio Mitotes” is reflective of the first American Indians in San Antonio Texas and Mitotes also has been used to describe a ritual dance. San Antonio Texas is where Louis A Garcia was born.
